Join Chef Lish Steiling for Live Virtual Cooking class. Lish will be teaching us how to make the perfect date night pasta. Join Lish via Zoom on October 8, 2020 and cook along with your Mountaineer Family!
All Ingredients will be provided, and students will need to have access to a fully kitchen and suggested items to have on hand are as follows:
- Large tall pot
- Large skillet
- Tongs
- Wooden spoon
- Small bowl for bacon fat
- Ladle
- Microplane
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Pepper mill
- Whisk
- Medium bowl
- Shallow bowl and utensils to serve
Lish is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and for over 24 years has worked in the culinary arts and food service industries. For the past seven years she was the VP of Culinary Operations and Production for the Food Network celebrity chef, Giada De Laurentiis. In 2020 Lish won an Emmy for ‘Outstanding Culinary Program’ for being the culinary producer for Giada Entertains.
Her career began in restaurants before she moved on to become a food stylist and recipe developer for Food Network, New York Times, Gourmet magazine and the Today Show, where she was a food stylist for five years.
She competed on the Food Network show, Chopped, and walked away with the win. Lish has also been featured in the book Chef’s Ink and Elle Sweden magazine for her unique food tattoos and recipes. She was recently a guest judge on Food Network’s Vegas Chef Prizefight.
Together with her wife, Abbey Cook, Lish is soon launching a personal project, The Taste Curators, where Abbey and Lish will showcase the beauty and similarities of food and design around the world. “We want to shed a light on how similar we all are in this crazy time of separation. Often it is the everyday things that really bring us together.”
