Join Chef Lish Steiling for a family cooking class. join Lish via Zoom on December 4, 2020, and cook along with your Family!

All Ingredients and suggested items to have on hand are as follows:

For the chicken:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 chicken thighs, about 2 1/2 pounds
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt, divided
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • Stalks of 1 fennel from below, chopped
  • 1 small red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 (28ounce) can whole San Marzano tomatoes, crushed by hand

For the salad:

  • 1 fennel bulb, thinly sliced
  • 10 leaves basil, torn
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup shaved parmesan cheese, with a vegetable peeler
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

To serve:

  • 4 (1 inch thick) slices sourdough bread
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Kosher salt, to taste
